Meet Ellen & Madeline!
Ellen Cohn (she/her) has been a staff member with Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF) since August of 2021. Her professional background includes performing on stages across the country, including a national tour with the National Theater for Education and the Arts, Guys and Dolls at the Fulton theatre in Lancaster, PA, and touring more locally with Third Space Theatre. Now, she often performs at local community theaters in the evenings and weekends while her professional focus remains on fundraising for T1D Breakthroughs.
Following her T1D diagnosis at the age of 13, Ellen became a passionate advocate for type one diabetes. She created the inaugural "Cabaret for a Cure: Melodies for T1D" in 2023 to bridge these interests of T1D advocacy and fundraising with her existing passion for performing. She was blown away by the generous support she received and can't wait to see how far we can go!
Ellen now lives in Phoenixville, PA with her cat Allen, dog Penny, and Fiancé Josh (listed in order of importance, of course). She studies voice with Susan Dash, and can often be found onstage at Footlighters Theater in Berwyn, or still touring with Third Space Theatre when her schedule allows.

Madeline Raube (she/her) is a professional singer, actress, and vocal coach. She holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Classical Voice from The Oberlin Conservatory of Music and a Master of Music degree in Musical Theatre Performance from New York University.
Madeline is currently playing the role of Mrs. Peacock on the national tour of CLUE! A major milestone in her career was the 2021-2023 Broadway National Tour of the musical Anastasia, where she performed the role of Countess Lily (500 performances). She also appeared at the renowned Tuacahn Amphitheater in three musicals simultaneously: Frozen (regional premiere), Anastasia, and Jersey Boys. Other favorite roles include Kate in Kiss Me Kate; Christine in The Phantom of the Opera; Ado Annie in Oklahoma; and Lilly in Annie. You can also hear Madeline's voice on the original Broadway Deluxe cast album for the musical Heathers.Madeline was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at age 9 in the summer of 2003. She has used a variety of devices to manage her T1D in the last 23 years: insulin pumps, continuous glucose monitors, daily injections, and Omnipod. Currently, Madeline is using the Tandem Mobi and Dexcom G7! She is grateful for your support and excited to contribute to the cabaret virtually this year, helping to raise awareness and funds. She looks forward to cheering on the new singers and can't wait to be back on stage with everyone next year!
